The Good Hair EditGuide 02

Your first extension consultation

The starting question is not simply “How long?” It is what you want extensions to do for your hair—and how they will fit into everyday life.

The short answer

Choose an extension consultation first. Installation, maintenance and removal need a plan that fits your hair.

Separate length from fullness

You may want extra length, a fuller shape, or both. Bring reference photos and point out the detail you like in each: the ends, the overall length, the colour blend or the amount of volume.

Photos help begin the conversation; they are not a promise of an identical result. Your natural hair and the chosen method matter.

Discuss the method before buying hair

The Cameron & Moo service pages describe tape-in extensions and microbead wefts. A consultation is the place to ask which, if either, is suitable for your natural hair and your goals.

Tell the stylist about previous extensions, colour and chemical services. If you already wear extensions from another salon, confirm that maintenance or removal can be accommodated before booking a slot.

Ask about the whole plan

Bring your usual wash and styling routine, how often you can return, and the amount of daily care you can manage. These details help you assess the ongoing commitment rather than choosing from the installation photograph alone.

An installation price is only one part of the decision. Ask what the quote includes and what you should expect after the first appointment.

  • Hair: length, quantity, colour match and any ordering step.
  • Installation: what is included and how much time to allow.
  • Upkeep: recommended maintenance, home care and styling.
  • Removal: the process, appointment and associated cost.

Leave with a clear next step

Before arranging installation, make sure you understand the agreed method, the quote, any deposit or ordering terms, and how follow-up appointments will work.

If you are still considering the upkeep, say so. A consultation is a chance to understand the commitment before deciding.
